What to expect

I teach Dynamic Vinyasa.

Clear, detailed verbal instruction. Hands-on adjustments. Short meditation. Long savasana.

I don’t demonstrate. I guide you through the class from beginning to end.

We practise a familiar sequence that develops over time. The aim is to give you the confidence to practise by yourself.

This class isn’t suitable during the first trimester of pregnancy. If you’re pregnant or have an injury, please speak to me before class.

Why I teach

I teach what I practise.

I've been practicing a long time.

At first it was physical. It still is. But what has kept me practising isn't the postures. It's the questions.

Yoga helps me make sense of myself and the world around me. Over time, it has become a study of the self and of reality. It teaches me to pay attention, to observe more carefully and to notice things. Sometimes it confirms what I already knew. Sometimes it changes my mind completely. That's why I keep practising.

Practice has given me a great deal. Teaching is my way of passing some of that on.

It sounds simple, but it isn't. You don't simplify by removing depth. You simplify by removing unnecessary complexity.

It takes time. You let go of what you thought you knew. Then the practice becomes more subtle. And you begin again. And again.

I have a daily practice and continue to study with teachers who challenge my understanding. That's how I practise. That's how I teach.
